Ontario pauses non-urgent surgeries ahead of expected Omicron impact

Ontario has paused all non-urgent surgeries at hospitals across the province in an effort to free up hospital beds and staff. The move announced Monday will take effect Wednesday and will likely be in place until at least Jan. 26. As Morganne Campbell reports, there are fears the fast-spreading Omicron variant could strain health-care facilities and further burnout those on the frontlines.
