During the delivery of Ontario's throne speech, Lt.-Gov. Elizabeth Dowdeswell said the provincial government would invest $2.68 billion for long-term care home beds in the course over 10 years. She also said there would be new legislation introduced to protect long-term care residents and ensure "bad actors" cannot "get away with anything less than quality care" for the most vulnerable.
