OPP arrest duo after high-end perfume theft at Orangeville Shoppers

Two people are under arrest after police investigated the theft of thousands of dollars worth of high-end perfume products at a Shoppers Drug Mart in town.

Dufferin OPP responded to a shoplifting incident shortly after 8 a.m. on April 16, after receiving information of the suspects stealing a large quantity of high-end perfume.

A 33-year-old from Etobicoke has been charged with theft under $5,000. A 45-year-old from Scarborough is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Officers had to track down the suspects after they fled the store. They were able to find them and recovered about $4,980 in stolen merchandise.

The accused parties will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a future date to answer to their charges.
