OPP mourn loss of officer after body found at Lakeshore conservation area

Ontario Provincial Police are mourning the loss of Const. Stephane Bilodeau, who died in Lakeshore Monday.

The officer was a 10-year veteran of the force, according to police.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time," reads the release written by Sgt. Dave Rektor. "This is a very sad situation and it would be inappropriate to comment further on this incident."

Foul play is not suspected and there are no community safety concerns.

Officers were called to the Tremblay Beach Conservation Area at the end of St. Clair Road around 8:30 p.m. to check on the well-being of a man, according to a release from the OPP earlier today.

Police found a body at the scene and the coroner's office is continuing to investigate the death.
