Oprah Winfrey slams Trump's family separation policy: 'Can't stand it'

The Trump administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their families has drawn outrage and disgust from a number of critics, including singer John Legend and former first lady Laura Bush.

You can now add Oprah Winfrey — whom President Trump attacked for being “insecure” in February — to that list.

The billionaire talk show host tweeted about her heartbreak about seeing “babies torn from their parents” at the border. Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King of CBS This Morning, will be covering the immigration detention center in Texas this week.

While Winfrey’s message angered many POTUS supporters, it also spurred fresh calls for her to run against Trump next time. The 64-year-old media mogul — who just inked a major deal with Apple — has spent most of 2018 fending off rumors that she’ll make a 2020 presidential bid, though Trump has shared his desire for a face-off.

“Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!” he tweeted in February.

Ultimately, most commenters just want Winfrey to take action — whether it means running for president or simply using her power for good.

Will Winfrey’s influence make a difference or just result in another Twitter attack from Trump?
