Osheaga admission bracelets still in the mail 4 days before weekend festival

Osheaga admission bracelets still in the mail 4 days before weekend festival

Music-lovers across the country are anxiously checking their mailboxes for their Osheaga tickets, hoping they arrive before the weekend rockfest.

Tickets for the sold-out music festival went on sale in March, but some people still haven't received their admission bracelets. The music festival's Twitter account has received a steady stream of abuse from anxious concert-goers who want to know where there bracelets are.

Osheaga's organizers, the concert-promoter Evenko, said on Twitter that the bracelets will arrive — at the latest — by Wednesday.

That's not good enough for Toronto resident Kate Roberts. She and her boyfriend bought their tickets when they went on sale in March. She said she was told bracelets would be shipped around July 1, so they booked their vacation and hotels, and they're setting out for Montreal early on Wednesday.

She said her boyfriend has tried to reach Osheaga's organizers, but he received no response except for a message confirming the receipt of his email.

Roberts is worried she won't receive her bracelets and will have to deal with long lines at the Bell Centre if she's forced to pick them up.

"I'm just concerned the first day of the festival is going to be kind of marred by the fact that it seems a lot of us will be in a lineup," she said. "I think it's going to put a damper on the first part of the festival."

Evenko prepared for longer lineups

A spokeswoman for Evenko said they're prepared for longer pickup lineups than usual.

Caroline Audet said the festival dealt with similar delays the first year it used bracelets. She wouldn't say what caused this year's delays but said all of the tickets are in the mail.

Audet encouraged anyone travelling who doesn't yet have their bracelet to call customer service at 1-855-310-2525 and arrange to pick it up at the Bell Centre.
