Ottawa bus-train crash draft report submitted to city, Via Rail

The Transportation Safety Board has finished a draft report into the fatal 2013 bus-train crash in Ottawa that killed six people.

The technical findings included in the draft report were submitted to the City of Ottawa and Via Rail in mid-July, according to standard procedure.

The city and Via will be able to comment on the accuracy of the technical data, but don't get to see the report's conclusions or findings, said TSB spokesperson John Cottreau.

It may take several more months for the final version of the report to be made public.

Six people died after a Via Rail train and double-decker OC Transpo bus collided in south Ottawa on Sept. 18, 2013. Another 30 people were injured.

The city and the estate of the deceased bus driver, David Woodard, are facing multiple lawsuits related to the crash.
