Ottawa and Gatineau weather forecast calls for freezing rain to start a wet week

A slippery Monday morning is leading into a wet, warm work week in the Ottawa and Gatineau area.

A freezing rain warning in effect for some parts of the region ended by late morning.

The freezing rain was expected to turn into rain as morning becomes afternoon.

The high is set to reach about 5 C.

Tonight the temperature stoops a little bit with a low of 3 C, with some fog patches in store starting in the evening, as well as a 40 per cent chance of drizzle.

It'll be another rainy start to Tuesday but that should end late in the morning, giving way to a cloudy afternoon with a high reaching up to 8 C.

The weather will be more friendly for pedestrians and cyclists Wednesday and Thursday, with highs of 6 C and 7 C, respectively, and a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast both days.

So far, there's a chance of showers Friday and Saturday.
