Ottawa Hospital employee charged with voyeurism

Ottawa high school latest target of anti-black graffiti

A man who was working at the Ottawa Hospital's General campus has been charged with voyeurism for allegedly taking photos or video of a woman in a locker room earlier this week.

The incident happened Wednesday while the 26-year-old suspect from Innesville, Ont., was on duty at the hospital, Ottawa police said.

In an emailed statement Friday, the hospital said the man no longer works there.

A spokesperson declined to say what his job was.

Hospital reviewing security

The incident occurred in a locker room that had controlled access by a select number of employees, the hospital wrote, adding the incident was reported to police immediately and that the hospital is co-operating with the investigation.

The hospital is also reviewing the security and safety of all lockers and change rooms and has assigned security to the room where the incident occurred.

The man is expected to appear in court Feb. 12.

Investigators are concerned there could be more people affected and are asking anyone with information to call the sexual assault and child abuse unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5944.
