Ottawa weather forecast calls for a rainy Friday

Flooded streets and paths won't get any help today as rain should continue all day and night in the capital.

Friday's forecast calls for periods of drizzle mixed with a solid rain until noon then there is a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. An east wind was also gusting at 30 kilometres per hour early in the morning.

The high is 15 C and we have a moderate UV index of three.

Tonight should remain mainly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers as the low hits 5 C.

Saturday also looks mainly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers in the morning and early in the afternoon. The high is 9 C.

Sunday should be much nicer with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 16 C.

Take note: the weekend nights will be quite chilly as Saturday night drops to 1 C and Sunday night hits the freezing mark.

Early next week looks like a nice improvement weather-wise with more sun and highs around 12 C.
