The relief from wet weather will be short-lived in Ottawa, as rain returns to the capital Tuesday afternoon.
After a soaked start to the week, the rain let up Tuesday morning, but it will be back. The forecast calls for a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon with a high of 14 C, with wind becoming southwest at 30 kilometres per hour gusting to 50 km/h.
Showers will continue tonight, with wind southwest at 30 km/h gusting to 50 and a low of 5 C.
Wednesday will begin cloudy, but skies will clear in the afternoon with a wind northwest at 20 km/h and a high of 13 C. The low Wednesday night will be 0 C with clear skies.
A mix of sun and cloud and a high of 13 C is in the forecast for Thursday, but there's a good chance the rain will return Thursday night. It'll be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of rain and a low of 5 C.
That may be the last Ottawa sees of the sun for a few days. Friday will be cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of rain and a high of 11 C. The same conditions will persist into the evening with a low of 4 C.
There's more of the same in the forecast for the weekend. Cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 12 C are on tap for Saturday.
The forecast for Sunday is cloudy again with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 11 C.
Those clouds should finally break by Monday, though. There's a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 12 C in the forecast.
