Ottawa's weather forecast calls for 5-10 cm of snow

Ottawa woke up to some fresh snow Friday, and in the end we set a snow record with almost 10 centimetres falling by 1:30 p.m.

Friday's forecast originally called for two to four centimetres of snow with a high of 2 C. That changed in the morning to expect between five and 10 centimetres.

Tonight should be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of rain or snow, with snow more likely after midnight as the low reaches just –2 C.

Saturday should bring a mix of sun and cloud in the morning with a high of 5 C, meaning the snow should melt quickly. The low Saturday night is a chilly –8 C.

About that snow melting ... unfortunately more snow should hit Sunday. There is a 70 per cent chance of that happening with a high of 0 C.

The weather warms up next week but it should be rainy Monday and Tuesday.
