Pincher Creek Emergency Services will hire a new fire chief after the commission announced in a brief June 18 media release that Chief Dave Cox was no longer continuing his role.

“The Pincher Creek Emergency Services Commission wishes to advise that Mr. David Cox has stepped down from his position as fire chief and chief administrative officer, as of June 17, 2021,” the announcement reads.

“The Pincher Creek Emergency Services Commission wishes to extend its appreciation to Chief Cox for his many years of service and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours.”

Mr. Cox contacted the Breeze directly and said he does not want to comment publicly at this time.
