P.E.I. holds winning record at the Brier

Team P.E.I. won the qualifying curling round to get into the Brier, and has a winning record through its first three games.

Adam Casey's rink won the qualifying round over Nova Scotia and Yukon for the final spot in the Brier on Saturday afternoon, and then lost its first game to Ontario by one point.

But the rink bounced back Sunday with wins against Team Canada and British Columbia.

"We played really good early. Eighth and ninth ends I felt like we threw away some extra points," said Casey of his performance against Jim Cotter's B.C. rink.

"We got lucky. Jim doesn't miss many draws like he did there in nine, so that was a big break. Certainly made the last end a lot more exciting than I was hoping we would."

The P.E.I. rink has its next game Monday, 4:30 p.m. AT against Quebec.
