P.E.I. had the highest rate of growth in consumer spending in Canada in the third quarter of this year, according to a new report from Moneris.

Moneris found spending was up 7.82 per cent on P.E.I. in the third quarter of 2016 — July to September, as compared to 2015.

National consumer spending was up 4.77 per cent.

The report bodes well for retailers on P.E.I., who according to Statistics Canada numbers have been experiencing strong sales since November of last year.
