When you’re craving a hearty soup, salad, or sandwich, you go to Panera. Now it’s going to be the place you also go to for Flatbread Pizzas, because it’s the new category the bakery-café fast casual restaurant is diving into.

The new offering comes in three varieties — Cheese, Margherita, and Chipotle Chicken & Bacon — which all sound equally delicious, if you ask us. The Flatbread Pizzas consist of a delicate, yet crispy, crust that is finished on a pizza stone, so we’re hoping for a nice crunch there. They have a range of toppings, including fresh mozzarella, fresh cilantro, and basil, and will make a great meal or addition to a meal to go along with that soup, salad, or sandwich.

The Flatbread Pizzas start at $7.99 and will be rolling out nationwide this week. Pizza party this weekend, anyone?

“With the launch of Flatbread Pizza, we are looking to redefine the expectation of pizza and carve out a niche for Panera in the pizza category,” Claes Petersson, the newly appointed head chef and chief food & innovation officer at Panera, said in a press release. “Our Flatbread Pizzas encompass the best of what Panera has to offer: clean, delicious ingredients from our pantry on top of oven-baked flatbread that is expertly crafted for our guests.”

Before the ongoing health crisis, Panera started investing in its dinner business. Although the restaurant’s food is consumed almost equally at lunch and dinner, the company is hoping this will further grow its dinner business. Pizza for dinner? We’ll never say no to that.
