There have been two lockdowns in two days at Parrish Community High School, the Manatee County School District said Thursday.

They were related to “medical emergencies,” district spokesperson Michael Barber said in an email, but threats were also made against the school in the past two days.

A message was sent to parents Wednesday and Thursday by Principal Craig Little.

One medical emergency happened Wednesday, and one Thursday morning.

People on campus used the district’s Centegix crisis alert buttons to trigger the lockdowns, Barber said.

In a separate incident, deputies from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office were called to the school’s campus on Wednesday and Thursday mornings after receiving threats on both days.

The threats were investigated and found to be false alarms, said Barber.

“The situation at Parrish Community is under control and there is an increased presence of district and law enforcement security to keep the campus calm,” Barber said in the email.
