Pasco’s only bowling alley closes. Now it will sell Amazon, Walmart, Target leftovers

A liquidator known for selling deeply discounted customer returns and overstock merchandise from Amazon Inc. and other retailers is coming to Pasco.

Daily Deals, founded in the Union Gap area, has leased the former Go Bowl in Pasco, 2799 W. Lewis St., for a second edition of the Sunnyside store where it sells merchandise purchased from Amazon as well as Walmart, Target and others.

The business is led by Hikmat and Jamel Awad, who registered the Pasco store with the state corporations division in early May.

Go Bowl, Pasco’s only bowling alley and one of just three in the Tri-Cities, apparently closed in April. Officials were not available to comment and signs in the doors indicated it was merely closed for a private event.

Daily Deals took possession of the property on May 1. Its lease was brokered by Rob Ellsworth of SVN | Retter & Company.

At 30,000 square feet, it is twice as large as Sunnyside store, said Jamel Awad said.

“We believe the Go Bowl is a perfect opportunity to expand into the Tri-Cities area that has more than enough space inside along with a good sized parking lot,” Awad said.

Daily Deals bills itself as a deep discounter that resells items returned by customers to major retailers. Awad explained that it buys merchandise in bulk, then arranges it on tables by prices.

Bowling alley demolition

A banner touting the business was on the ground in the parking lot on May 18 while a construction crew inside worked to prepare for the new occupant.

Awad hopes to open on a Friday in July. But this week, the building still retained most of its bowling alley features, including wooden lanes, a restaurant area and was littered with construction equipment.

The scope of the work to convert it into a retail store was not immediately clear. The city of Pasco has not yet uploaded permit information to its public website.

The building was built in 1958 and occupies a prominent spot at West Lewis and 28th Street, near the on/off ramps to Highway 395.

Daily Deals’ discounts get steeper over the course of the week, with deals priced at $12 on Friday, $10 Saturday, $8 Sunday, $5 Monday, $3 Tuesday and $1 Wednesday.

It closes Thursday to restock.

It echoes business model of another Pasco liquidator, Hot Deals Liquidation, 1124 E. Ainsworth Ave.

A sample of recent Daily Deals merchandise included waffle makers, vacuum cleaners, outdoor lights, shopping bags, backpacks, DeWalt power tools, hand mixers, pantry organizers, solar flood lights, panini presses, binoculars, thermoses, an electric balloon pump (and balloon arch kit), salad spinners, WiFi routers, hair dryers, pet stairs and more.

The Sunnyside store is at 1710 Gregory Ave. Follow it on Facebook.
