It’s probably the most quoted show on the planet and made household names out of its stars. But for one of its actors, life on the set of Friends is now nothing more than a distant memory.

Paul Rudd, who played Phoebe’s love interest Mike Hannigan on the show, remembers his time on set as a surreal blur.

“It was an incredible thing to be a part of,” he told Graham Norton on his BBC chat show, “but the whole experience seemed a bit surreal and a bit of a blur in my memory.”

He explained why he felt that way. “I was only coming on for a few episodes and then it turned into a few more. I was even in the last episode, which made no sense to me whatsoever.”

This year is the 25th anniversary of the iconic sitcom and Rudd’s career has blossomed considerable since his time on the show. The youthful-looking actor, who actually turned 50 earlier this year, almost didn’t make it past his first day on set.

He managed to run over Jennifer Aniston’s foot when she had a broken toe and he thought he would be instantly fired.

“I was on the set for my first episode and Jennifer was on a Segway because she had broken her toe, and everyone was marvelling at it.

"Matt LeBlanc asked to have a go and immediately knew how to do it. I then asked to try it too. I spun round and rolled it right over Jennifer's foot!”

Rudd is now known for his roles in the Marvel movies in which he plays Ant-Man. It was also confirmed this summer that he would be joining the cast of the new Ghostbusters, which is currently filming.
