Paulina Porizkova is fighting for her granddaughter.

The model took to Instagram on September 3 to share a photo of herself with Olivia Otcasek, the granddaughter of Porizkova’s late husband Ric Ocasek’s son Christopher. (Christopher kept the original spelling of the family name, while The Cars frontman dropped the T from his name.)

Porizkova captioned the post, “Me and my amazing granddaughter (ok, step-granddaughter) @oliviaotcasek.”

She continued, “Yeah. I care. I care about her and my other granddaughters and my goddaughters and my friend’s daughters and your daughters and sisters and mothers and wives. And that’s why we need to push for ERA. #ERANOW @eracoalition For all of us.”

Porizkova gave photo credit to her friend Colleen Otcasek, who is Olivia’s mom.

The ERA was first proposed in 1923 as a way to affirm that no American citizen would be discriminated against on the basis of sex. More than 30 states have ratified the amendment.

The model, who recently spoke out against ageism and posed nude for a photoshoot in a new Los Angeles Magazine cover story, took to Instagram earlier this week to slam the new Texas abortion law. The controversial law restricts the medical procedure after six weeks of pregnancy — earlier than many people learn they are pregnant — and incentivizes private citizens to report those who aided in terminating a pregnancy.

In a post, Porizkova wrote of the new law, “Another unacceptability. Taking away a woman’s control of reproduction and her own body. This renders us firmly second class citizens- if not chattel — forcing women, in essence, to be walking incubators. Being pro choice doesn’t mean I’m pro abortion. It means I’m for PRO CHOICE.”
