Woman, 28, critical after being struck by car in Scarborough

A 28-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a car while crossing a road in Scarborough late Thursday. 

The collision happened at about 11:15 p.m. at Markham Road and Painted Post Drive. 

Police say she was struck by a 2010 Toyota travelling southbound on Markham Road and driven by a 27-year-old man.

The road was closed for several hours. There is no word on charges.
