A 30-year-old London man has died after being struck by a transport truck on westbound Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent Friday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a collision at about 6:40 a.m. on the 401 just east of Bloomfield Road.

Police say a truck hit a pedestrian but did not explain why there was a pedestrian on the highway. No one else was injured in the crash.

In an updated news release Friday afternoon, police said the death is not considered suspicious and foul play is not suspected.

The investigation is complete and police say no charges are expected.

All lanes of Highway 401 reopened Friday afternoon.
