Pedestrian hit and killed on Interstate 40 in Durham late Saturday

Durham police are trying to determine how a pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 40 in Durham on Saturday night.

The man was hit on westbound I-40 near Fayetteville Road shortly before 10 p.m., police say. The man was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police have not released the man’s name or any details about the incident, including whether the driver that hit him stopped or continued driving.
