Pedestrian killed after being hit by semi-truck in Manatee County crash, troopers say

The Florida Highway Patrol says a pedestrian died after he was hit by a semi-truck early Friday morning in Bradenton.

A pedestrian died after he was hit by a semi-truck early Friday morning in Bradenton, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash happened at 5500 15th St. E at around 2:48 a.m., according to FHP.

Troopers say paramedics brought the pedestrian to HCA Florida Blake Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The pedestrian has not been publicly named at this time.

The semi-truck driver remained at the scene of the crash and troopers say no criminal charges have been filed.

An FHP map shows a roadblock remains in the area. FHP confirmed that Traffic Homicide Troopers are still on scene Friday morning.

Further information about the fatal crash was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing, troopers say.
