Pedestrian killed on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno. Driver told police he had a green light

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday morning on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno.

Officers responded to Blackstone and Spruce just after 3 a.m. and found the pedestrian in the roadway, police said.

The pedestrian in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperative, police said.

He told officers he was traveling southbound on Blackstone in the No. 1 lane and had a green light before the collision.

Alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor.
