Pedestrian killed in crash on U.S. 287 in Fort Worth. Highway reopens to traffic.

A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle Monday morning on U.S. 287 northbound near Wilbarger Street in east Fort Worth, authorities said.

Police, firefighters and MedStar responded to the crash about 10:45 a.m., according to a call log.

U.S. 287 north was closed to traffic at Wilbarger Street following the crash, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. The highway reopened shortly after 1 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the person who was killed.
