Pedestrian killed near Lake Shore and Park Lawn

A female pedestrian is dead after being hit by a truck near the lake shore in Toronto's west end on Thursday morning.

Paramedics said the woman, believed to be in her 60s, was struck by the truck at the intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard and Park Lawn Road around 7:40 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved appears to be a truck that hauls construction waste bins.

Toronto police have closed the intersection to investigate.
