Pedestrian killed in overnight crash on I-5 near Fife, Washington State Patrol says
A 63-year-old Seattle man was killed overnight Sunday after he entered the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, according to the Washington State Patrol.
He died at the scene of the crash, troopers say.
About 12:20 a.m., a 62-year-old Tacoma man and his 66-year-old passenger were driving north on I-5.
Meanwhile, the Seattle man was standing on the right shoulder of the freeway just north of Port of Tacoma Road.
Troopers say the man then entered the freeway and made it to lane three before he was struck by the Tacoma driver.
The driver and his passenger were not injured. The Tacoma man also was not impaired, according to State Patrol.
