Pedestrian struck, injured by SUV charged for jaywalking
A 75-year-old man who suffered serious head injuries when he was struck by a small SUV on Bank Street Friday morning has been charged with failing to use a crosswalk.
The collision occurred on the 2700 block of Bank, near St. Bernard Street, just before 8:30 a.m.
The SUV driver remained at the scene while the pedestrian was taken to hospital in serious condition, Ottawa police said.
The pedestrian was later charged with failing to use a crosswalk, according to Ottawa police spokesman Const. Chuck Benoit.
