Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle in Livingston identified by authorities
A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Livingston has been identified by the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office as Gudelia Aviles De Jaime.
Officers responded to the collision in the area of North Main and Davis streets just before 4:30 p.m. Jan. 12. When the officers arrived on scene, they located the 72-year-old woman deceased.
Police said that according to witness statements, it appears the woman was inside a crosswalk when she was struck by a Honda Pilot as the driver, believed to be a 56-year-old woman, was making a left turn onto North Main Street. The driver of the Honda remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
Livingston police said neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the collision. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Livingston Police Department at 209-394-7619.
