Pedestrians hit by vehicles in Regina and Prince Albert

Two pedestrians were hit by vehicles on Saturday.

The incidents happened approximately 11½ hours apart. The first incident happened in Prince Albert at approximately 6:30 a.m.

A lone pedestrian was walking in the middle of a double lane highway on Highway #2 in what was described as heavy fog and low light conditions.

The pedestrian was struck by a southbound half-ton truck. The driver remained on scene for emergency services to arrive.

The pedestrian was taken to a Saskatoon hospital with serious injuries and remains in hospital.

Traffic was detoured but flow has returned to normal. The investigation is ongoing. Charges are not being considered at this time.

The second incident took place in Regina.

A pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross Dewdney Avenue at the intersection with Angus Street.

The pedestrian was struck by a westbound vehicle.

The driver did not remain on scene to attend to the pedestrian or speak with police.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with what are described as "noteworthy but non-life threatening injuries."

Police spoke with witnesses and said the investigation is ongoing.
