People Believe Melania Is Slapping Away President Trump’s Hand in This Video

Melania Trump and President Trump arrived in Israel on Monday morning for their two-day trip after visiting Saudi Arabia over the weekend. While the first couple were departing Air Force One and greeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and wife Sara, one small gesture between them quickly made waves on the Internet.

In footage captured of the group walking across the tarmac, the first lady — dressed in a sleek white skirt suit — appears to swat away the president’s hand. Some said she was rejecting his attempt to hold her hand.

Whether the act was intentional or simply Melania not realizing what her husband was doing, people took to social media to sound off — unsurprising considering that the couple’s body language is often heavily scrutinized by the public.

Some said Melania “slapped” away the president’s hand.

While others felt the moment was heavily dramatized.

In February 2017, another incident took place involving the couple’s hand holding in Florida that users were quick to react to on social media as well.

People said that the President appeared to be avoiding holding the first lady’s hand. Others dismissed the idea as far-fetched.

Melania is currently traveling with the president during his administration’s first international trip — an eight-day, five-stop trek to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Rome, Brussels, and Sicily.

The first lady has shared a number of images from the trip on her Instagram page, describing her trip to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, as “wonderful.”

She also shared an image from her visit to a General Electric all-female service center in the Saudi capital; while there, she spoke about female empowerment.

“Enjoyed talking to the incredible women working hard at this @GE_Saudi service center. Great strides being made towards the empowerment of women,” she captioned the image.
