Person seriously injured after a shooting at a Macon gas station, deputies say

A 40-year-old man was in critical but stable condition after a shooting in Macon Saturday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a 911 call around 1:16 a.m. regarding “a person down,” at Exxon gas station at 36 Spring St., a news release from the sheriff’s office said. When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics arrived on scene and took the man to a medical facility, the release said. No one else was injured.

Deputies were investigating what led up to the incident Saturday. Anyone was information was urged to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
