Person shot and killed in Turlock. Police are investigating the circumstances

A person was shot and killed in Turlock early Tuesday morning, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Medics with the Modesto Fire Department responded to the 1800 block of Lander Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. and were informed that CPR was in progress when they got the call.

When they arrived on scene, American Medical Response declared the person dead.

The person was an 18-year-old Modesto man, according to TPD.

As of 9 a.m., the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office said they had not received a body — indicating that it could still be on scene.

Dominique Sanchez, spokesperson for TPD, said the case was “still in the beginning stages of the investigation.” No other information was released as of Tuesday morning.
