Pete Davidson was basically synonymous with tattoos a few years ago. The comedian and actor was covered in ink, from inside jokes with friends like Miley Cyrus to covered-up tributes to former flames Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande. However, he's currently in the process of removing much of his body art and gave fans a peek at the progress on SNL.
Davidson made a surprise appearance at his former home base on the November 2 episode hosted by John Mulaney. He appeared in a sketch wearing a T-shirt, showing off nearly bare arms.

Previously, Davidson's arms were a proverbial art museum of tattoos, but most of them are gone or almost faded away completely. The shirt covered up his shoulders and biceps, so we're not 100 percent sure if those tattoos are gone or in the process of being removed, but it appears Davidson did keep a few — or hasn't gotten around to removing them yet.
Davidson has been talking about removing his tattoos for years. In 2020, he talked about how long it took to cover them up with makeup for movie roles, which was a big factor in the removal idea. In 2021, he shared that he had been undergoing the removal process, which can be expensive, painful, and time-consuming. He also said “by the time I'm 30, they should all be gone.”
At the time, Davidson also shared that it took his skin nearly a month to heal after a removal session, it's clearly been a lengthy journey. Davidson did have over 100 tattoos, after all!
Davidson rang in his 30th birthday on November 16, 2023, and it looks like he's pretty close to his goal of having fewer tattoos. Maybe he'll keep a few of the most meaningful, or perhaps he's ready to say goodbye to all the ink forever and it's just slowly but surely covering more ground. Either way, we'll be paying attention!
