Police arrest suspect after shooting in Peterborough

A man was transported to hospital after a shooting in Peterborough Friday evening, according to Sgt.Tim Millard with the Peterborough Police Service.

Joshua Mcnamara, public relations officer at Ornge, said the victim was in critical condition and was driven from a local hospital to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto by ambulance. Mcnamara said the man was in his 30s.

Peterborough Police are investigating the incident, which happened on Water Street, north of McDonnel Street.

The roadway has since been re-opened to traffic.

Police say there is no known threat at the moment and that the investigation is active and ongoing.

Millard said there will be an update on the incident at noon.
