Photographer Melvin Nicholson was in Rannoch Moor in west Scotland on Sunday when he captured a shot of a rare white “fog bow.”

Nicholson told the BBC fog bows are colourless rainbows which are “made up of tiny water droplets that cause fog.”

“It’s an amazing thing to witness and can generally only be seen if the sun is behind you when you are looking at it,” he added. “It was just beyond magical and one of those days that you’ll remember for a long time to come.”

Nicholson captured his photo of the white rainbow above a lone tree, which he said completed the shot.

The fog bow appeared during Storm Angus, according to U.K.’s Metro, which was the region’s first named storm of the season.
