PHOTOS: Fort McMurray in year since massive wildfire

In the late afternoon of May 3, 2016, the entire northern Alberta city of Fort McMurray had to be evacuated due to a massive wildfire. More than 60,000 people were forced to flee their homes as a huge flames raged out of control.

Twelve months later, many residents are still trying to rebuild as the destructive fire continues to leave its mark.

Yahoo Canada News has put together a collection of images showing what the community known as Fort Mac looks like after 10 per cent of the community’s structures were destroyed.
