PHOTOS: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tours India with family

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in India on Saturday for an official trip filled with activities.

The prime minister’s wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, and his three children, Ella-Grace, Hadrien and Xavier, came along for the 20-hour journey to Asia.

Trudeau met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and other leaders in various industries, including film and business.

Several Liberal ministers, including Navdeep Bains, Bardish Chagger, Kirsty Duncan and Amarjeet Sohi all travelled with Trudeau to India. Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland and Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan met with the prime minister in the country.

The prime minister’s father, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, visited India on multiple occasions when he was Canada’s leader during the 1970s and early ’80s.
