'Last call for alcohol!' – Ninety-four years ago today

94th anniversary of the start of U.S. prohibition

Jan. 17, 1920 marks the ninety-fourth anniversary of the effective

date of the Eighteenth Amendment prohibiting the sale, import and

transport of alcohol in the United States. On January 16th "last call"

was exactly that until prohibition was repealed 1933.
