After the Times Square party comes the cleanup

Shortly after the ball dropped Wednesday in Times Square, cleanup crews got to work.

About 40 workers from the Times Square Alliance were ready with brooms and blowers to clear the confetti paper, pizza boxes, streamers, popped balloons and empty soda bottles littered on the sidewalks and push them into the street. Alliance sanitation director Joe Costarella says once the trash was off the streets, the Department of Sanitation street brooms would drive through and suck up garbage. (AP)
