NASA One Year in Space Mission: In Pictures

Due to launch on 27 March 2015, American Astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian Cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko will spend a year aboard the International Space Station, which is twice the usual length of missions on the ISS. The aim is to study medical, psychological and biomedical challenges faced by astronauts during long-duration spaceflight, paving the way for any future trips to Mars. Scott Kelly's twin brother and fellow astronaut Mark Kelly will stay on Earth to act as a control subject for the experiment.
