Never-before-seen Challenger disaster photos emerge

Michael Hindes' grandfather worked at NASA during the tragic Challenger space shuttle disaster on January 28, 1986. When Hindes' grandmother passed away last week, he went to the home of his grandfather, Bill Rendle, to find photos for the memorial. What Hindes didn't expect to find was photos taken by another NASA employee of the Challenger disaster as it unfolded almost 28 years ago. Hindes shared the photos on Reddit Tuesday night, and overnight the album reached more than 500,000 views, KSTAR reports.
All seven people on board the space shuttle Challenger died when the shuttle broke apart 73 seconds into its flight.
