Other People's Clothes

Have you ever walked down the street looking at strangers and thought about what a certain person does with their time or how they see things? In his amusing series Other People's Clothes, photographer Caleb Cole tries to visualize his curiosity about strangers by creating photographs where he finds an article of clothing either found, bought or borrowed then imagines who would fill these clothes and poses in a chosen location where this 'stranger' would likely be found.

In his artist statement Cole speaks about the project: " Though I am the physical subject of these images, they are not traditional self-portraits. They are portraits of people I have never met but with whom I feel familiar, as well as documents of the process wherein I try on the transitional moments of others' lives in order to better understand my own."
