Rivers of conflict

Many of the world's rivers are the focal points for water conflicts. A war between Israel, Syria and Jordan from 1964 to 1967 is the only recorded conflict in which lives were lost over water, but there are a number of hotspots around the globe that have the potential for conflict should water resources continue to dry up.
