While Venezuela's government has encouraged people to relax and enjoy Carnival, the opposition has called on its supporters to protest during the annual festival. Tensions in the capital city of Caracas are high and protests have become violent while outside of the capital in towns such as La Guaira, people are enjoying the sun and Carnival.
