Pinterest Announces List of Top 10 Best Mascaras
For many makeup lovers, mascara is the perfect final touch of a beauty routine. After all, nothing complements glowy skin or a red lip better than full, fluttery lashes. And thankfully, we've come a long way from sticking to traditional black formulas: If you so desire, you can go Louboutin Red or even rainbow to take your look to the next level. And if you haven't found that one daily tube you always reach for, where better to consult than the Internet?
Byrdie kindly went through Pinterest to find the top ten most-pinned mascaras on the platform — after all, if people love to pin them, there must be a good reason for it! So whether you want long, spidery lashes, full-on volume, or the perfect curl, rest assured that these social media top dogs have you covered.
The formula topping the list shouldn't come as a shock — Too Faced's Better Than Sex. Not only has it been pinned 61,000 (!) times this past January and February, it was also named the top-selling mascara in the world. NBD.
Following Too Faced was Eyeko's Yoga Waterproof Mascara, Origins GinZing, and La Roche Posay's Respectissime mascara, a popular choice for lengthening, and conditioning. And what's more, the top ten list featured both über-luxe choices, like Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils and Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Lashdress, but also gave drugstore ones ample time to shine: Mary Kay's Lash Love and Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel stood their ground alongside their prestige dupes.
Rounding out the list, at last but not certainly least, is my personal favorite mascara, Benefit's Roller Lash. (I always have an extra tube, so I never run out.) With its patent-pending wand and Vitamin B5-infused formula, it'll always be a winner in my book — lash curler entirely optional.
