A playful passion: Regina toy show brings out collectors of all ages

They may not be kids anymore, but people were showing off their toys at Regina's Farm Toys and Collectors show Saturday.

The show featured everything from farm toys, to toy cars, to railroads sets. Some toys were decades old, while some were brand new.

"The best part of it is having something that no one else has," Ray Storozuk, one of the organizers, said.

For Storozuk, he said he cherishes some of his old farm toys – some that are more than 60 years old. One of his sets of toy farm machines is still in its original box and could be worth hundreds of dollars.

"It's the nostalgic part and also they do increase in value depending on what it is. You can generate some extra dollars out of that if you care to sell 'em," Storozuk said.

For some at the show, like Brad Keen, they'll never lose interest in collecting toys.

"I don't think anybody should quit their passions. Whether it's at a young age or whether older — always collect and be young."

The toy show continues on Sunday at St. Basil's Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST.
