Already in need of your fix of some secretive, dramatic television since Pretty Little Liars finished last year?

Then it's officially time to get excited, because showrunner I Marlene King is already putting the finishing touches on the spin-off's script.

Freeform ordered a pilot for Pretty Little Liars spin-off The Perfectionists in September last year, and details about the show (which is also based on a series of books by author Sara Shepard) have been slowly trickling out through reports ever since – although it's safe to say that this latest update is the most exciting we've had in a while.

"We were scouting for a location to film our pilot in Portland over this last weekend," King told ETOnline. "And yes, the script is written and we're in the process of rewriting it just to fine tune it perfectly… we're super excited about it."

In the interview, King also confirmed that The Perfectionists will pick up one or two years after the events of the Pretty Little Liars finale – no word yet on if it will answer any of our questions though – and she also revealed that not all the Perfectionists will be girls.

"I felt like just as we were getting sort of into season five and six of Pretty Little Liars, our guys became such an important part of the show," she added.

"I wanted to explore the relationship between guys and girls who can be friends and not necessarily boyfriend-girlfriend."

Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish will both be reprising their Pretty Little Liars roles for the new pilot and they'll be joined by six new regulars, with all the details of their characters available to read right here.

"The fun of a spinoff is getting to take a couple characters from your show and creating this new experience for them, but you can't take everyone," King added.

"It's bittersweet in some ways, but I think also awesome in others and I think our fans will appreciate the journey that these two characters, Mona and Alison from our world, are going into this new world."

The series follows the adventures of five high school students who bond over their mutual hatred of a school bully.

"Nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be," the synopsis reads. "The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town's first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi."
