Plus-Size Office Chairs Gain in Popularity

Plus-size employees now have a new option for kicking back in comfort around the office.

BrylaneHome announced this week it has expanded its line of office chairs in its Plus Size Living Collection. The bonded leather surface chairs, which feature wider seats for extra room, are specially designed to hold between 300 and 500 pounds.

Built with materials such as reinforced sinuous spring-seat bottoms and heavy-duty casters, each chair goes through a three-step test to ensure it meets weight standards. The tests include dropping sets of sandbags five times onto the seat from six feet high. The test is repeated at different weight capacities to ensure the seating can endure the impact.

"As we have continued to expand our Plus Size Living Collection, we have become more creative with our designs, incorporating a wide variety of styles and fabrics that are beautiful, functional, and most importantly, durable," said David Milgrom, senior vice president and general brand manager for BrylaneHome. "Plus-size customers can purchase products from our PSL collection and feel confident that not only will they securely hold a higher weight capacity, but they will stand the test of time and be a good investment for the home or office."

In addition to its new office chairs, other items BrylaneHome is unveiling this spring include living room accent chairs, as well as a number of personal care and helper products, such as plus-size weight scales, a five-function deluxe shower head and massager and 23" hangers.

Overall, Plus Size Living offers more than 400 different products, including furniture, bedding and fitness options.
